Back to School Letter to Parents

Dear Rosemont Students, Parents, and Guardians:

:

I am excited to begin this year at Rosemont, for my first year as a lead teacher. My time as a student teacher, and extensive field experience training during my Master’s degree program at the Southern Methodist University School of Education has gone a long way to preparing me for this step, and I look forward to working with you to make the school year successful.

I have two daughters here at Rosemont, in kindergarten and in third grade. We are proud residents of this neighborhood, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see each other at the grocery store or the part. Prior to now, I was a lawyer, and spent the past ten years at a small firm as a civil litigation attorney. I decided to leave the law and pursue teaching in an effort to make a positive impact on the lives of students. I think that many of the skills and training is received as a lawyer will translate well to the classroom.

I truly want to work as a team to best help our students. To that end, I welcome and encourage all parents to text 1234 to the following number 123-456-7899. This will include you on the Walnut Hill message system and you will receive updates, and can send me messages if you have any questions or concerns.  Alternatively, you can email me at teacher@school.com, or call 222-222-2222 during school hours.

We will have many opportunities for you to come and join the students and see their work. I will send notice of these events home with the students, as well as completed work, homework, and calendars, so please check their folders regularly so you don’t miss anything. This is going to be great year.

Thank you for your support!
