Meet the Teacher!

Background

I am from Hot Springs, Arkansas, originally, but I’ve lived in Texas for over 20 years. I went to UT Austin for my undergraduate degree in Government, then Law School at SMU. I graduated from law school in 2007 and worked as a civil litigator for 10 years. I returned to SMU for my Master’s in Education, and have been certified as a Generalist Ec-6, ESL, Art Ec-12, and Gifted and Talented.

Family

I am a mother of two girls, an 9 year old and a 6 year old. I love how their minds work, and am constantly delighted by their imagination and growth. As a teacher,  I think I can translate my parenting experience to the classroom, and make my students feel safe and loved.

Interests

I am a creative person, I love to make draw, paint, craft, sew, and cook. In my family, we are always making things (especially messes). I am also a huge bookworm, a podcast lover, and a documentary enthusiast.
